A bit about me…

I am a dancer, mama, nature child and a curious forever student. My background is in movement, contemporary dance and pilates, outdoor education, teaching and somatic therapies. I have always been fascinated by the human body and by our innate ability to move, grow and heal. I have practiced massage therapy for 20 years and have been very fortunate to have had some amazing mentors. In my practice I listen for the unique story of your body and assist you to find your way back to balance and wellness. My tools are a blend of felt sense listening and intuition with evidence- based massage therapy, integrative fascial therapies, myofascial release, craniosacral therapy and visceral treatments.

About Me…

I graduated from the 3000 hour West Coast College of Massage Therapy program in 2003. Previously, I studied and performed contemporary dance at SFU and earned my Bachelors in Fine and Performing Arts with a minor in kinesiology. I have completed and continue to study post graduate courses in Somatic and trauma therapy, Craniosacral therapy, Visceral manipulation and Myofascial therapies and  am certified Pilates instructor.

Currently, I practice trauma- informed registered massage therapy and somatic bodywork and teach rehabilitative Pilates. I have developed and teach Trauma Aware Healthcare courses for healthcare providers. Previously I taught dance and high school outdoor education (including rock climbing, skiing, caving, kayaking and hiking).  I have also worked as a teaching assistant and student clinic supervisor at the West Coast College of Massage therapy and as a board examiner for the College of Massage Therapists of B.C.

In my practice, I am  committed to facilitating the healing process of each client and I conduct a holistic assessment of each person. I practice somatic bodywork which is an integration of somatic experiencing and manual therapy. I also use manual techniques such as, myofascial release, craniosacral therapy, visceral manipulation, neuro relaxation technique, therapeutic exercise programs and other modalities to achieve positive change and restore balance within the body. I have 20 years experience working with many conditions including pregnancy, injury rehabilitation, post surgical, chronic pain and with populations such as professional athletes and dancers.

Born and raised in the coastal mountains of North Vancouver, BC. I love spending time on the trails and slopes of the sea to sky and can also be found dancing from time to time.
